If you’ve been plurking in the last 24 hours starting early afternoon Wednesday June 18th EST then you might have seen various plurkers plurking about a plurker named DoshDosh who had a novel idea of putting various plurkers around the world on blast and making wide-range of connections with one simple post.
The idea: simple.
The process: simple.
The end result: AMAZING!
What DoshDosh was able to do was capitilize on the plurkers eagerness to build new friends yet how no idea on how to do so. Friends closing towards 600 and Karma just past 60 DoshDosh aka Maki is “a Philosophy student in Toronto, Canada” and “offering internet marketing and blogging tips, alongside social media strategies” which he writes over at his blog promptly entitled DoshDosh.
So, what is so great about this idea that everyone has taken ahold and spread like wild fire? It’s simple. People WANT to connect with new people. We want to make those connections with those in a field we admire or someone who might be cute, funny or just plan different - heck maybe even all the above.
So, what is the cons to all this? Well, if you don’t want over 200 plurks to form in a matter of hours then you won’t be adding lot’s of friends instead moving them towards ‘fans’. You’ll constantly be clicking on “Mark All Read” only to find 20+ new responses within 15 minute timeframe.
Now that you know about it - have you been apart of this trend or avoiding it?
