Tired of just plurking with text, images and youtube clips? Well, welcome to club but with some tricks you’ll be able to do some neat things to set yourself apart from the novice plurker.

Here are a few examples that the plurk team has set up for us to use:

  • Linking to a plurker: Want to promote a plurker then just place a “@” symbol in front of their username and when you plurk it it will be a link. A common example is: @drivenmg will turn into drivenmg
  • Making text underlined: Feeling the need to emphasise text without using bold or italics? Then underlining the text can help you. By simply placing two underscores __ before and after the items you want underlined (does not work with punctuation). An example is: Off work in __10 Minutes__! will turn into Off work in 10 Minutes!
  • Making text BOLD: Want to try and make a point by bolding a word or your whole plurk? Just insert two asterisks **  on all sides of the items you want bolded (does not work with punctuation). An example is: Wall-E movie was **GREAT**! will turn into Wall-E movie was GREAT!
  • Making text italic: Want to set some text apart but not make it bold? By inserting one asterisk * before and after the items you want italized (does not work with punctuation). A common example is: What are *you doing this weekend*? will turn into What are you doing this weekend?
  • Linking Text: Have a blog of a website you want to share with your plurkers but the address is too long? By simple entering the full URL with a description of the link in parenthesis will result in eye pleasing link. An example is: Check out the http://www.plurkguide.com/(Plurk Guide website) - IT ROCKS! will turn into Check out the Plurk Guide website - IT ROCKS!
